THE MARLBOROUGH LODGE OF THE ANTEDILUVIAN ORDER OF BUFFALOES. |
This jewel was issued in the same year as the founding of the Primrose League and illustrates one of the sources from where the 'League' obtained it's ideas for the design of the Badges they released, although it must be admitted none, yet encountered, are as ornate as this item. |
This hallmarked silver jewel is inscribed:
'Marlborough Lodge Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes' |
The reverse is inscribed:
'This Order of Merit was presented to Primo Edward Falby by members of the Marlborough Lodge in estimation of his services in the cause of Buffaloism and of their regard for him as a man. Augst 7th 1883.' |
