| There are a number of places titled 'Middleton Park' at which this gathering could have happened, but the obvious choice is the residence of the Child-Villiers family (The Earls of Jersey) in Oxfordshire. Middleton Park was a plain neo-classical building remodelled for the 5th Earl of Jersey, between 1806 and 1810 by Thomas Cundy Snr. In 1934 it was demolished to make way for a new house by Sir Edwin Lutyens. | ||
